Go to makeup products (my routine)

I am constantly asked what type of makeup products I use. I am loyal to certain brands, but also love to mix it up trying new products. Two brands that I am consistently loyal to is Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder. Both of these brands have continually put some of the best products on the market that make women feel and look beautiful. Some of my favorite Bobbi Brown products is their Undereye Corrector. If you are like me and have serious dark circles, this is the product for you. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t apply the corrector under my eyes. It hides the dark circles,…

    Breaking out the fall wardrobe

The cold weather is finally hitting, which means switching out our summer sundresses, sandals and shorts for sweaters, boots and jeans. Fall clothing is my favorite and I am so excited to share some of my top picks for this fall. A huge trend this fall is sweaters and blouses that are prints. Leopard print is huge right now. Pairing the leopard print blouse sweater or shoes with black jeans or a black leather skirt will be a huge trend this fall. Another big trend in terms of prints is camo. Camo shirts, jackets and pants are making an appearance everywhere. This pattern is a bold statement but brings a…

    Losing the freshman 15

The freshman 15 is real and very common, not only during freshman year but can carry over throughout your college career. I have found it difficult to overcome the freshman 15 because I was constantly being surrounded by unhealthy choices. In high school, we have more of a routine of when we eat out meals, scheduled school activities, and more structured sleep schedule. In college,  I found myself eating meals at weird times, snacking often, staying up late and not participating in as much physical activity. Identifying these changes helped me notice what my problems were and the steps I needed to take fix it. My first step and my…

    How to train your hair

Who would have thought that you could train your hair… but you can. Most people tend to over wash their hair when in reality you should only wash your hair every two to three days. Washing your hair every day can strip your hair, which can cause it to produce more oils. The less you wash your hair, your hair will recognize that it isn’t being stripped by shampoo and other hair products, this will result in your hair producing fewer oils that make it look greasy. An article posted by GQ convinced my friend Elizabeth to finally train her hair.   I helped my friend Elizabeth train her hair…

Keep your skin clear and beautiful for fall 2018

The age-old debate amongst my friends is,  “does washing your face every night really make a difference?” The answer is YES! The reason this is true is that throughout the day your face comes in contact with dirt, dust, sweat and not to mention the makeup that we put on our face every morning.   Fall is a busy time. School work begins to pick up, extracurricular activities, football games, and the fast pace of life as a college student.  We might tend to overlook simple beauty habits, but not washing your face can’t be one of them. Refraining from removing makeup from a long day with a mix of…

    My excersie routine

In college, it is extremely important to create a workout routine that is easy to follow and stick to. Often times we are left with low energy from the extremely busy life we experience while in school. I tried many different plans and diets fads for creating a healthy lifestyle for myself. I had to find what type of exercise I enjoyed doing every day but finding a balance to not burn myself out.   Kayla Itsines workout routines are filled with new exercises every day and give great results. They are easy to follow for any age group. I encourage anyone who is looking for a straightforward easy to…

    Understanding

My experience in Italy has influenced my development of the characteristic of understanding. Understanding art, culture, relationships, and myself. Italy has taught me how important it is to understand an idea or concept, and has taught me the skills I need to be more understanding. The characteristic of understanding was used when looking at art. My first encounter with art was the frescos in Arezzo. Kirk explained the history of the art and why certain figures were used within the art. It takes an understanding of historical context, ideas of that time, and background to look at a piece of art. You must first understand the art before you can…

The Day I Saw the Pope (crying…day 14)

Today I saw the POPE!!! I will admit I cried when I saw him because I was just overcome by so much happiness and excitement. I began my day with the sound of my alarm clock at 5 am. I had to keep telling myself I was going to see the Pope while I got up and ready in the dark while my roommates were still sleeping. A group of 13 of us bared the early wakeup call to experience the best moment of the trip. We got to the Vatican around 6 am and I was surprised to find that we were one of the first people in line.…

    Vatican (day 13)

Today I woke up on cloud 9!! I was finally going to see the Vatican and get to see where the Pope lives, breathes, and prays. My whole life my family and I had always talked about what visiting the Vatican would be like and today I get to turn that dream into a reality. Today began with an early wake-up call so we could start our journey to the Vatican. Our hotel was a little far from the Vatican so on our way we made stops and looked at all Rome had to offer. We visited the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, little neighborhoods throughout Rome, and finally, we were…

Rain Rain Go Away (day 12)

Today we had to say our goodbyes to Arezzo :,( It was so sad to leave the cute quiet town of but we had quite the place to look ahead to… ROME!! On our way to Rome, we stopped in the town of Siena. The beginning of the day was a little hazy for me because I had to go to the bathroom so bad from the long bus ride. Two cups of coffee before a bus ride is not recommended, especially when you don’t know when the next bathroom break is going to be. I assumed when we pulled into Siena I would be able to go, but the nearest…
